By now, y'all might have figured out that I don't post on the weekends. I'm usually too busy sewing or playing to spend time on the internets.
I quilted Amy's pink quilt on Saturday. JulieB had suggested I quilt clamshells, as that is a traditional pattern that was commonly seen on 30's era quilts. To myself, I'm thinking "oooh... I wonder if I can do that, it sounds difficult". After cleaning the machine and loading the quilt, I was rummaging through one of my bins and found several longarm quilting tools (templates) that I bought at Houston last fall. You know it - I have a 3" clamshell and another that is a little smaller. The blocks in Amy's quilt are 3", so I figured, what do I have to lose? I am embarrassed to say how easy it was to quilt this quilt. I quilted clamshells in the body and a feather border. Yeah, feathers! I took a class from Linda Taylor last fall - feathers don't scare me (much) anymore.
OK y'all - dig this backing!!! Isn't it FUN???? I love this.
Pam P., this one's coming to you! I bet you'll smile the whole time you're working on it. Those poodles are fabulous!
I did take a break on Saturday afternoon to go to the matinee with Joe. (He is still sick, but he "thinks he's getting better" coughcoughcough) We saw Wild Hogs - that has got to be one of the funniest movies I've seen in a LONG time! I laughed all the way through it. There's something about a bunch of white collar 40-something guys going on a road trip on motorcycles - you just know its gonna be a disaster. :) That's all I'll say about that. Just go see it!
Wonderful clam shells and perfect feathers!

That quilt turned out great! Love the backing material, so fun! Thanks for the review on Hog Wild. I was thinking it looked like a good laugh movie, now you have assured me it is. It's now on my to see list.

I love it! And I have to ask, who did you buy the clamshell template from?
