My little boy formally accepted the job offer from Major Oil Company yesterday. Whee! He's now officially "grown up". He graduates from college in 11 days and will be moving to Bartlesville, about 100 miles down the road from his current digs in Stillwater. This time next month, he'll be living in the first home I don't have to pay for! (bad grammar but an awesome thought) Obviously I'm as excited as he is about this. I'm proud of him for reaching his goals, but its really more than that - its seeing him make his dreams come true that really stirs my heart.
Its kind of funny; he was all set to take the job with Major Consulting Firm and move to Austin. They made a verbal offer and told him he'd be getting an e-mail. He checked with them several times during the week it was supposed to come, and they kept telling him he should be getting it soon. He asked some questions about the job that couldn't be answered by the person he was talking to, but they couldn't give him the right connections to answer those questions either; just that someone would call him back. During this same timeframe, he decided to dig a little deeper into details of the job with Major Oil Company and got answers straight away. When he was telling me about this over the weekend, his decision was made simply because one company had their stuff together and the other company didn't seem to be as well organized.
Look at what Debra S. sent me in the Arty Meme exchange:
Isn't this a beautiful journal? I am crazy about it... I know exactly how I'll use it - I'm going to practice my rubber-stamp art in this book. It will be perfect to catalog all my rubber stamps, and I can do some color work (ink, pencils, etc) on the images too. Thanks, Debra!
Here's my newest rubber stamp -
Its a terrible picture, isn't it! I don't know what other fiber art card artists use to mark the backs of their cards, but I bought this one on e-bay. I have searched the internet for "postcard back rubber stamp" with very limited success. I don't know what this is really called... I've seen the cards marked "postcard" in different ways. Some are really pretty and look very vintage - others are quite plain. I guess this isn't important in the whole scheme of things, its what is on the other side that counts. :)
What buyer did you get that great stamp from?? Theya re imposible to find in the right size :)

I would die from joy if my eldest was graduating from college, let alone get a nice job. I reckon when he gets tired of landscaping, he'll go back to school.
Congrats to your son...what an accomplishment! I know you're stoked!
